DIY Kid’s Glitter Globes

I am so excited to share these DIY glitter globes with you! You may remember seeing them from Annie’s shower, they were one of three crafts we made. These are so easy to make, inexpensive, and multi-functional. They make for adorable nursery decor, but also can be used to entertain your kiddo.

Here is what you will need:

  • 16oz mason jar
  • glitter
  • glycerin
  • hot glue
  • figurine (I got mine at Michaels)

The glycerin can be found in the baking isle of any major hobby/crafting store. I had no clue they used glycerin in cake making!

Michaels has tons of adorable figurines. For Annie, I used farm animals. There was a whole section of fairy stuff as well as beach themed items too! I think these glitter globes look really cute in sets of three.

and now for making your glitter globe..

Step 1: Hot glue the figurine to the bottom of the inside portion of your lid.

Step 2: Fill jar with water, as many sparkles as you would like, and 4-5 drops of glycerin. Combine everything together by stirring.

Step 3: Hot glue the inside portion (with the attached figurine) to the jar. Then add more hot glue in between the threads of the jar and screw the lid on. The hot glue should insure that the lid does not come off.

That is it! Cute as could be decor.. in like 5 min total!

Hope you enjoyed this easy peasy, short and sweet, tutorial. I would love to see how your glitter globe looks, use #thegreencupboard to show me!
